Milan, December 18 2009 – Holding Sanità e Servizi, the company of the CIR group active in residential care, has changed its name to KOS (www.kosgroup.it).
The name KOS, which is inspired by the Greek island where Hippocrates was born, was approved by the Shareholders’ meeting which marked the seventh year of business of the company.
The new name was chosen because it is shorter, simpler and able to further enhance the distinctiveness of a company which in just a few years has changed from being a start-up to being an integrated healthcare group, leader at national level in the management of residences for the non self-sufficient elderly and rehabilitation hospitals.
The KOS group, which today manages a total of 5,059 beds, plus another 368 under construction, is active in three sectors:
· the management of residences for the elderly, with 38 care homes under management (3,832 beds operational and 328 under construction);
· the management of rehabilitation hospitals and centres, with 6 rehabilitation facilities (in Lombardy, Emilia Romagna, Trentino and Marche), 8 psychiatric rehabilitation communities (in Liguria, Piedmont and Lombardy) and 13 day hospitals, for a total of 1,107 beds in operation plus a further 40 under construction
· the management of a hospital and of high-tech services in hospitals, with 7 diagnostic imaging units
