Milan, December 22 2009 – CIR SpA hereby notifies that it has today received from Fininvest a bank guarantee of 806 million euro for the compensation in favour of the company, inclusive of interest and ancillary costs, awarded by the first-level civil ruling on the Mondadori affair.
The text of the guarantee was agreed upon between the two companies following the recommendation made by the Milan Court of Appeal, which at the hearing on December 1 asked the parties to see if it were possible to find an agreement on the enforcement of the ruling.
CIR and its legal counsel, Prof. Vincenzo Roppo and Elisabetta Rubini, have expressed their satisfaction at the outcome of today’s hearing and are now preparing for the appeal proceedings, confident that the company’s good cause, which has already been upheld by the ruling of the Court, will be further recognized at the second-level hearing as well.
