Control acquired of the Sanatrix group, owner of a care home in the province of Macerata with 205 beds and revenues in 2009 of 23 million
Milan, January 28 2010 – KOS SpA, the company of the CIR group active in the residential care sector of the healthcare business, has today finalized the acquisition, through its subsidiary Istituto di Riabilitazione S.Stefano, of Sanatrix SpA, the group in the Marche region which owns a care home with 205 beds in Civitanova Marche (Macerata). The deal involved a disbursement of approximately 18 million euro. KOS, which already had a minority shareholding in Sanatrix, now holds a stake of 76.9% in the company.
The healthcare and care home business acquired consists of 90 beds devoted to hospital care, 50 to long-term care and rehabilitation and 65 to residential care for the non self-sufficient elderly (RSAs). The revenues reported by the Sanatrix group in 2009 were over 23 million euro. The activities carried out by Sanatrix have a high potential for integration with the rehabilitation services offered by Istituto di Riabilitazione S.Stefano, the subsidiary of KOS which is based in nearby Porto Potenza Picena (Ancona).
Following this acquisition, the number of beds managed by KOS will rise to 5,253, plus another 388 under construction. The KOS group is active in three sectors: – managing residences for the elderly with 38 care homes under management (3,836 beds in operation and 336 under construction);
